note that a Bartholomew Scanlan shows up as a sponsor to the baptisms of
Mary Ellen O'Neil (1855) to parents Thomas O'Neil and Mary Doherty.
and also on the 1860 baptism of Ellen Jane O'Neill to same parents.
and also on the 1856 marriage of Thomas O'Neil to Mary Doherty.
( Also note what seems to be his burial in 1866 , Quebec (St. Roch), burial 10th June, 1866, age 51 years. of this parish, spouse of Mary Melgrath. )

Bartholomew married Ellen O'Doherty.
