"Albert Ellis came to High River in the early 1880's. In 1890 he married Emmaline Mary Banister, who was born 18 July, 1864 at Dorset, England and died 3 November, 1953 at Calgary.
Mr. Ellis filed a homestead and was a trader in the High River area."

abgensoc.ca (Alberta Homestead Records 1870-1930) has a file showing Albert J Ellis applied for a homestead. The provincial archives of Alberta holds these files, but again, I don't know how much detail is contained in the original application. I think that anyone in Edmonton can go into the archives and look up the file and it's my understanding that the Alberta Genealogy Society did the work to put these applications into a database for the Archives

Ordered this GRO registration on Nov 6, 2004 and received Dec 2, 2004. It turned out that Albert John Ellis was not the brother of Elizabeth Mary Ellis , but instead was her son.

The birth registration of Albert John Ellis indicated that his parents were Elizabeth Mary Ellis and John Mitchell.
