Dr. Henry Eugene Siu
General Notes: Henry's family moved from Ottawa, where he was born, to Regina Saskatchewan when he was 9. It was there that he found an interest, in football, and excelled, in track and field. Henry also played trumpet in the Campbell Collegiate High School jazz band. He took up recreational snow skiing in his early 20's. Because of his great love of dogs, Henry volunteered at the animal shelter while living in Evanston, Illinois, caring for and walking dogs. He enjoys playing guitar, and took violin lessons as a child. Henry has held a variety of jobs through his early years, from busboy/ server in Regina , to summer employment with the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago, Illinois. In 2002, after graduating with a Ph. D. in Economics from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, Henry achieved his goal by securing a teaching position as Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Noted events in his life were: • First Degree, 1996, University of British Columbia. BA Honours Economics. • Second Degree, 2002, Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. Ph.D. Economics Henry married Jodie Lee Thompson, daughter of William Burn Thompson and Carol Frances Would, on 3 Jul 1999 in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. (Jodie Lee Thompson was born on 21 Jul 1973 in Medicine Hat, Alta., Canada.) |
