George was a prominent figure in British Columbia's home building Industry. He started building homes in Kelowna and then moved to Prince George in the early 50's. He started Central Contractors in 1952 and expanded the business into Central Homes in 1963. George was a founding member of the Prince George Homebuilders Association and the Construction Association. He was President of the Prince George Construction Association in 1958/59. George served as President of the Prince George Homebuilders Association 1968/69, the B.C. Homebuilders Association, and Secretary of the National Homebuilders Association (from which he was awarded a lifetime membership).
