bullet  General Notes:

After her father's death, when she was 13 years old, Linda moved with her mother and younger brother to Kelowna. She completed her junior and senior high school there. Linda was chosen Miss Teen Town while in high school, and was their representative in the Lady of the Lake competition. Linda danced in Oklahoma, Finnian’s Rainbow and Brigadoon produced by Kelowna Productions theatre group. She was very active in All Saints’s Anglican Church as a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Anglican Young Peoples Association holding the offices of local president and provincial secretary. Upon grade twelve graduation, Linda worked for the Kelowna School Board before meeting Dean Andow. They were married in May of 1963, and moved to Washington, D.C. where their daughter, Louise, was born. From there, they moved to Bellingham and then Spokane, Washington, at which time Dean served with the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam. Linda and Louise went to live with Vera and Lawrence Would for a brief period of time while Dean was in Vietnam. When he returned, they moved to Wenatchee. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1969. Linda worked for the Wenatchee School District as an accountant and bought a small home in East Wenatchee. A few years later, Linda met Rudy Mayer of Chelan, and they were married in Chelan at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in June 1974, taking up residence at Rudy's lakeshore home and apple orchard, and creating a blended family with Rudy and his two daughters from his previous marriage. Linda owned and operated an accounting and office administration business called "The Professional Center" in Chelan for a number of years. She was also very involved in her church and the community, and received the Soroptimist's Woman of the Year award. Both she and Rudy went into semi-retirement in the 1990's and began to enjoy travel in their 5th wheel r.v., spending up to 2 months every winter touring parts of California, Arizona, and New Mexico. Linda likes to garden and is fond of her roses and the rockery along the pathway to their cabana on the beach. She and Rudy adore their granddaughters, and have many friends in the Chelan and Wenatchee areas.
